EGOSCUE METHOD FOR ARTISTS

Ana Guigui co-presented at the Musical Theater Educator's Alliance (MTEA)  at San Diego State University on January 6, 2020 with Tim George, who is the owner of the San Diego and Las Vegas Egoscue clinics.

Ana Guigui is a certified Postural Alignment Specialist (PAS) in the Egoscue Method and has created a groundbreaking, innovative approach to incorporate aspects of this method with singing and speaking for vocalists, actors, and public speakers of all levels.

As a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Opera and Vocal Arts from USC’s Thornton School of Music, Guigui brings to her students a solid, diverse background in vocal training in all styles and genres. In singing, the body is one’s instrument. So, her teaching centers around the importance of whole body wellness, rooted in an understanding of the body’s alignment of all the load joints – head, shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles - while simultaneously respecting and considering physiological processes of the vocal mechanism.

Explore how the Egoscue Method can help you align your body in order to reach a new level of freedom and expression in your voice! Explore and understand how your body and voice work together to help you become a more confident and connected performer!

My story:

I toured for many years as keyboardist/vocalist for Christopher Cross. I retired from touring in 2008 and completed my Masters Degree in 2010 and my Doctorate in Opera/Vocal Arts in 2013. I have been a Voice Professor at the Berklee College of Music in Boston since 2014. I had carpal tunnel for many years and a hand surgeon suggested I get carpal tunnel surgery. I don't believe in getting surgery unless it's a last resort. So, I explored holistic alternatives and discovered the Egoscue Method, which heals physical pain and injuries without surgery!

I felt relief from my carpal tunnel symptoms within days, and was so taken by the results that I got certified in the Egoscue Method as a postural alignment specialist (PAS). I started incorporating this postural alignment method into my voice teaching, and my students are getting great results in their singing from aligning their posture! I approached the NYC Egoscue clinic owners about my discovery in connecting the Egoscue Method with the voice, and they hired me to start building my clientele for artists there.

So, I am reaching out to offer you a complimentary consultation with me to see how it works, and I would also be happy to set up consultations with any of your students who you think could benefit from this technique.

I hope you are all doing well. I look forward to hearing from you!
